Down in the Valley
More than 150 Chamber members, guests and dignitaries helped celebrate the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Authority annual dinner/dance at Genoa Lakes Golf Club. The celebration of community service and recognition was highlighted by plenty of laughter and an opportunity to visit with friends and colleagues in a festive atmosphere, as seen in this photo
Capable at the capitol
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class of 2006 chose as its class project to build a replica of the state capitol, which will be donated to the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada. Pictured from left to right are Jim Gallegos, Tristin Alishio, Tom Finch, Erin Lehman and Phil Doss. The entire class of 21 worked on this ambitious project.
EDAWN action plan
Nearly 400 people attended the recent Target2010 Economic Summit. The event, sponsored by the Economic Development Authority of Western Nevada, detailed an action plan to attract, expand and start up key industries that will bring high-paying jobs and opportunities to Northern Nevada. Additionally, EDAWN has launched a Workforce Network to help existing and prospective employers find skilled employees. Other key initiatives include cultivating entrepreneurship and venture capital funding in the region and developing a regional brand for business.
